Good days

We've had a great few days. We've camped with friends and we've hiked with others. The weather has been marvelous! I will post pictures of that tomorrow.
The other day I did accomplish most of what I set out to do, I changed all the linens. And then sprayed them with an awesome linen spray my friend Kristin made for me. It's made out of essential oil, water and rubbing alcohol! I love it! Miss E says it smells like candy!

I did bake as well. Made my favorites, "boller", which I think is almost the same as hot cross buns. And this time they were a success! Last time they didn't turn out. Like I've said before, I'm far from a master in the kitchen.
Me, Miss E and her dollie had a tea party and that was fun. Then we looked at her baby pictures and had some good conversations.

I tried to move the lawn, but the mower didn't start, and my hubby hasn't had time to look at it yet. I can safely say that it's a jungle out there! This picture is NOT resent, but it's my back yard. I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm going to need heavy machinery and $$$, so it will have too do for a while. We still enjoy it, especially after my husband fenced it last summer. The dog and kids enjoy the freedom. Now if it only kept wildlife out. Last summer the bear would come early morning a couple of times, and now there are lions roaming town! But they've away from us so far!

Good morning!

It's a good morning and today I will accomplish something!
I have great plans to catch up in my yard, do some baking, change bedding's, find stuff for our church garage sale and actually play with my children...
But for now, snuggled on the couch with my girls...love it!

My historic house

This is my house.
This picture must have been taken between 1889-1924, that is when it was my towns school house. The first in the county I believe. It looks a little different today; sadly no bell tower, and some new additions have been added. Yet the square base is still the same. We found this picture, a copy of the original, at a museum last week. It's pretty awesome if you ask me! We also bought a book about the county and town. It was quite the wild west here at some point. Can't wait to read all about it.
I love history!

Princess movie night

Friday night, we had a big princess party at our house. It was an AWANA event, girls only and we watched the new veggie tales movie "Sweetpea Beauty". AWANA is a christian organization where girls and boys learn bible verses and have a lot of fun. Our church has a program every Friday night and we really enjoy it.

I think we were about 25 princesses and queens in attendance, so it was a house full. I happend to have quite a bit of princess and castle stuff, so it was really fun to decorate. Check out the knight in shining armour!

Others brought the food so that was great. The girls made their own little pizzas and we had a beautiful cake and cotton candy.

It was a lot of fun!
Now I have to get ready for an afternoon out with girl friends: The third Twilight movie and dinner. Yeah!

Recycling part 2

I had an old shoe box that I glued some pretty paper on. Then I put some embellishment on it to make it cute.

Now I have something pretty to put ugly stuff in... One can't have enough storage stuff!

Recycling

I ran out of flower pots a while back, so I used an empty can of coffee instead. Took the label off and put on a pretty sticker.

Nice!

I'm sure I was supposed to drill some holes on the bottom for drainage, but I was too lazy for that. Instead I put some small rocks at the bottom. So far so good. And so cheap.

Have a fantastic day!
I have a party to clean for...

Changes in the kitchen

I love curtains and how much they add or change a look. I usually change curtains in my kitchen and living room at least four times a year. Needless to say I have a huge stack!

I recently changed the kitchen. Beautiful flower and see through curtains. I also put fun striped chair covers on my chairs. I moved around the kitchen table and changed the table cloth (another great love).

These flowers has lasted for weeks. I love when that happens! Thanks Susan! :)

You would think that since I love curtains so much I would have invested in really nice curtain rods and all its stuff, but when we moved in there was so much else to spend money on. They are so very expensive! The only place I splurged was in the kitchen, and I certainly don't regret that! I love these. Now I wish I'd bought nicer ones for the rest of the house, but I'm too cheap to change them out now. Besides I would need for 15 windows of various sizes! $$$

Patterns

I love flower patterns! If it was up to me, we would have flower couch, flower wallpaper, flower almost everything!

But, I guess since I'm married to a man, I can't do flower everything...

Just a little bit...much...

Thankfully he doesn't care much!

( most of this stuff is my mom's - and please may I have it mother???)

Jeep'n!

On Monday my hubby was off work and we went jeep'n behind our house. There is a beautiful trail there, that for some reason I've never taken.... There were so many wildflowers! I feel so lucky to live where I live! I love that I can take a little "vacation" every day! The trails and fun is endless....

Korker ribbons

I started to make korker ribbons for my girls a while back. Today I finally finished...sometimes I take forever to finish a project...

Anyways here is the recipe:
- Wooden dowels
- Wooden clothespins
- Any 100 % polyester fabric ribbon
- Hair pin of your choice
- Needle and thread
- Glue gun
- Stove

Cut ribbons to desired length and roll it around one dowel. Experiment with tension to your liking. Attach each end with the clothespin. Repeat this with how many you desire to use. I think it took me two dowels with ribbon to make one finished korker. But it depends how full you want yours. Put it on a clean cooking sheet in a clean oven at 275 degrees, for about 15-20 min. Let cool down and gently slide off the dowels. Then cut to desired length and sew a bunch together. Attach to hair pin with glue and maybe an embellishment ( I used some buttons).
Ready to use in a little beauty's hair!

Have a great weekend!

Today we're going shopping. We're hoping to find a cheap fire pit for this weekend. Hopefully we will find one. I also need sandals for the baby. Her feet just grew so much. I got her new ones right before Norway and now they're too small...Then we're off to swim and splash at a rec center! It should be a fun day!

Have a good day!
