A gift that grows

My good friend Susan, gave me this beautiful bulb flower. I have no clue what it's called. But it looks beautiful and smells good!

Valentine's chair backers

I've been wanting Pottery Barn's kids chair backers for a while, but they are a little bit out of my price range. Anyways, I decided to make my own.
One with stripes for my youngest. Polka dots for my oldest.

I embroidered their names on. And of course everything I make has lots of mistakes, these are no exceptions....But they are still cute...
Now, all I have to do is to fill them with love notes and candy!

Daddy/daughter dance 2010

Last year my daughter and husband went to their first dance together. They had so much fun and couldn't wait for this years dance.
Where we live there is only one dance like this, and it's always close to valentine's day. It's a special treat for both daddy's and little girls!

My husband shaved his head and face, and put on his good suit. What a well groomed hottie!! And of course Miss E. put on her fancy dress, sparkly tights and shoes, and my jewelry.

And of course we had to curl her beautiful hair. Her hair curl so good (not like mine!), I just think it is so much fun!

Cheap redo

Loving to look around blog land for inspirations, I've seen this all over. It can hold a candle, or other decorative items. I went to the dollar store and got two candle holders and two vases. A total of $4! Add a little super glue, and there you have it! A whole new, more expensive look. I'm planning to do this with plates too, to make cake stands...

Valentine's pictures

Tried to take some pictures of baby. She wasn't too willing, but I got some shots...Moments after I took the one with the pram, it tipped over. Fortunately no babies were injured during photo shoot....

Butterscotch accesories

The interactive pony the girls got for Christmas only came with the bridal, so I decided to dress it up.First I knitted leg warmers with little bows, then a blanket to keep under the saddle. In purple of course - one of E's favorite colors.
Then I had some fabric laying around that worked perfect for a saddle!

I made reins and a big bow in the mane out of ribbon.

Then I took the remaining ribbon and some round metal things and made the stir-up's.

And of course living up in the high country, every horse needs a blanket!

Valentine's banner

I love making these whimsical banners! I've made a whole bunch of them for different occasions; valentine's day, Christmas, birthday, baby room and playroom. I make them out of paper, but plan on using fabric one of these days... Anyways, my husband thinks we have enough!

This banner says "SWEETHEART".

My crazy baby

Baby A is crazy, and she drives her mamma crazy. She has to be walked and carried most of the day ( I have big arm muscles after one year of this), she refuses to be fed and throws most of the food on the ground, and is totally wild while being changed. She is loud, and will not nap much. But she is oh so cute, and I love her so much!

House slippers

Since fall I've been obsessed with making kintted houseslippers, probably because they are so easy to make, and comfortable to wear. They are best if made out of wool yarn, then felted, but I have a hard time finding wool yarn here.
I love pink knitting needles

A future gift....

Fruits

We were watching church on tv this morning. All of the sudden E. says "We don't want to eat that!" I asked her what she was talking about, she said " the fruits of the spirit"!

Dance class has started again!

I'm so excited it's time for dance class again. Where we live there is limited activities, but every winter we have a dance school coming to town. In May there will be a recital and it's all very exciting for mom. Good thing my daughter is excited about it too! Tutu's, ballet slippers and the loud noise of tap shoes! I love it! And all the little girls are so cute trying to follow the steps and movements!

Smykkeskrin/jewlery box

Princess E. made this necklace at preschool before christmas. She is very proud of it and wanted to show it on the blog. She is a great crafter! And so is my sister, she gave E. this jewlery box for christmas. She decoupaged it with scrap paper and it looks great! She is a very creative person and does everything beautifully! She said she was making baby one too, so I can't wait!
Sorry, couldn't turn the picture.....Necklace in the jewlery box my sister made. It has the most beautiful color beads. Fancy!
