A great gift idea!

One of my wonderful friends gave me this gift basket for my birthday! It contained a wonderful apple smelling candle, wooden fall decoration, and apples with stuff to make Carmel apples! I thought that was such a great idea! I have never made Carmel apples before but always wanted to. Now I have everything I need for it + the recipe. It will make for some special time with my big girl!
Thank you Kristin!

Turning 33!

Today I turned 33. I'm definitely a grown up now. I think...well, maybe... I guess that's how we all feel...
And it's true, the older I get times fly by faster, -and life gets better! It feels good to not be so insecure and unsure as I was in my twenties, even tough I'm getting more wrinkles and grey hair...It's OK, I'm happy!
This morning I woke up, or got woken up, at 6.30 - My family could not wait any longer to give me breakfast in bed. Even though I was in the middle of a dream, and still sick ( have had a head cold for two days), it was very sweet and tasty! Who knew my husband could make such a tasty omelet?
It's been a good day, (with a horrible headache),banana split ice cream cake, Indian food and gifts. I got a really nice watch, scrapbooking stuff, prettty drawings, an awesome foot and calf massager and a Vera Bradley purse from my in-laws!

I'm one lucky lady!

(because it's not a girl anymore, right?)

Have a good weekend!

(A friend made me this pretty pie. Perfect for fall!)

It's finally the weekend! It's good to have the whole family home. Today we are going to a football game, Miss E is a cheerleader! She is so cute, trying to do the moves and cheers. Some more successfully than others....
Tonight we are suppose to go to a b-party, but baby A has slept horrid this last week, so mommy has slept little too. And I think I'm getting sick...So we will see...
Tomorrow is the annual fall festival here, it's always a lot of fun. And I'm turning 33!!! No big celebration, but following tradition there will be banana split ice cream cake! Yum!
So a busy weekend, but fun busy!
Enjoy your day!

Fall photo session

Even though the days are still hot, fall is definitely here. (We had to shoot in the morning in order to wear fall clothing). The nature in my county is absolutely breathtaking right now. The most fabulous yellows and oranges colored trees are everywhere. The mountains look so incredible beautiful!

Me and my friend decided to go down to my towns river and do a photo shot, trying to capture some of the beauty and our kids. It was so pretty, fun and stressful... little kids don't always cooperate...

They did enjoy throwing leaves in the air though...

I took a million shots, most with crazy fake smiles, but also some great ones. I need two really good ones enlarged for the family room. My husband is tired of looking at the pictures that came with the frames....and I can't say I blame him!
It was a great day with my children, and my friend and her children! And everyday I thank God for living in such beauty!

I've been blessed!

Pretty match boxes

Since it is the start of candle time, I want to show what is popular in Norway. - To embellish the match boxes that are used so much!

And it makes perfect sense, since they are always laying around looking plane and ugly...

I like old Victorian motifs, especially with glitter... So easy, cheap and fun to make.

I also think they are cute gifts along with a candle!

Fall scents

The mornings and nights are getting darker, it's time for candles!
I love candles with scents, especially fall scents. I used to think that it had to be a Yankee Candle, to have the best smell. Even though that company produces so many unbelievable, fantastic smells, I do think the prices are insane! And to be honest, I'm always disappointed, because they don't give off that much scents...To my delight I've discovered that the Wall-mart candles gives off more scents! And for $5 each I can buy more for one big room, get more scents, instead of spending $25 a candle!
These are two of my favorites this fall; Juicy apple and MULLED CIDER!
Have a good day!

Family Room

This room used to be Miss E's bedroom, but because of Mr. Bears frequent visits last summer (right outside her window), we moved her elsewhere. Then, it became our family room. It was a VERY pink family room! (I forgot to take before pictures...)
With the help of my family, we build a walk in closet, where you see the door. It's not finished yet, and I can't wait to use that space!

The walls got painted a light grey, and the TV hung on the wall with all the cords hidden. I love that! At some point we will get a gas fireplace to put underneath the TV....
My mom sewed new curtains and painted, my sister painted and orginized and my hubby and dad build the closet. Thank you all!

And since our family is 50% little kids, they have a corner with toys...
I am so happy to be done, and I love this new place of relaxation and family time!

The pink is gone!

Back to normal

Our visitors are safe back home, and we had a great time together!

One of the days they were here we went to the American Girl Store, which is a huge deal for us. The proud grandparents got talked into buying Miss E a doll: Julie Albright! She is so cute! It is possible mom is a tiny tad more excited than the child....

Busy, busy...

My family is here visiting from Norway! We've been busy, busy....We are building a walk-in closet in our family room, painting it and the room, and doing a lot of shopping! We've also been hiking, sewing curtains, eating and talking. It's been non-stop since they got here, but it's great!

Probably no more blogging this week!

Acorn Squash

Yum! This is a treat!

Now that fall is in the air, it's squash time. The smells, the tastes and colors of fall! -I simply love fall!

Anyways, this is a very simple recipe for a delicious treat:

Cut however many acorn squash lengthwise.
Remove seeds and strings.
Stuff with pineapple, butter, cheese or my favorite; brown sugar and butter! (I do this after it's cooked)
Place upside down in a deep dish with 1/2 " water. Cover and bake at 375 F for 40-60 min.

Artist gallery

Anyone with children knows how many drawings a child can produce. You would also know how proud that child is of his/her artwork ( mom's too!).
My daughter always wanted me to hang them on the wall, I love her work but I don't want them all over the house. So instead I hung a string and used some really cute clothespins for her art gallery area. Now she knows how much room we have and that she has to change out her work to fit in new. Plus it's always fun for little hands to hang stuff, and you get fresh pictures all the time!

Have a good day!
